Why People Do It
As post-pandemic return-to-office mandates have ramped up, a lot of workers have pushed back in small ways, and coffee badging is one of them. The reasons tend to come down to a few things: many people feel more productive at home, commuting eats up significant time and money, and a day spent taking the same video calls they could take from their kitchen doesn’t feel worth the trip. Surveys of hybrid workers have found that a large share — often cited around half — admit to doing it at least occasionally.
